The main purpose of having a secondary DNS server is to act as a backup in case the main DNS server managing your domain goes down. In this scenario, your server would still be operational, and since you wouldnt have a backup, nobody would be able to access it, which could cost you a lot of lost clients (i.e. REAL MONEY).
